Emotional Well-being

Hello families,
My name is Sarah Hodson and I am the Home School Link worker here at Woodlands.
My role in school is to provide support, advice and information to the families within our school community.  As a school, we will all try and help you with any worries that you may have in relation to your child's education, behaviour and wellbeing.  I am here to listen when you need to talk.  I am in school each day from 8am and can be seen after school hours by arrangement if necessary.  Advice and support is confidential, although concerns relating to the safeguarding of children will always be dealt with in accordance with the school's Safeguarding policy.  I may not have the answers to all of your questions, but I can help you to work out how to find them.

Support for pupils includes:
Promoting good attendance and punctuality
Promoting self-esteem and confidence
Promoting positive behaviour and positive attitudes towards learning
Promoting self-awareness through using the Emotion Coaching approach
Providing 1:1 sessions through times of change, for example, a family breakdown

Support for families includes:
Promoting good attendance and punctuality
Providing information and signposting to other services in the local area
Liasing with other agencies when required and attending meetings
Advice and support in promoting positive behaviour at home
Listening when you have concerns

The mental and emotional wellbeing of our children, is asimportant to us as their academic progress.  When you feel that you need to talk to someone about your child, please drop in and see me. If I'm not available, I will contact you as soon as I can.  Please give me a call via the school office on 01827 429020 or email me at anytime on hsl@woodlands.staffs.sch.uk and I will reply as soon as I can.
