Black History Month

Black History Month
October

Black History Month is a month-long celebration of the achievements of Black people throughout history right up to today. It is an opportunity for everyone to learn about the history and the Black community while also making strides to eradicate the inequality that still exists in society today.

Here at The Woodlands, we do not confine Black history to one month. We embed it throughout our curriculum by using Black authors and artists across all subjects and learn about important Black figures who have made a change in our history.

Throughout the month of October, we will be celebrating Black history through conversations, reading books and poems by Black authors and having class gatherings to discuss what Black History Month means.
