Wow, what a year!
Thank you for all of your support and understanding during this difficult and challenging year. We have, together managed to minimise the impact on the children and their learning as much as possible. The children have been amazing and resilient. They have adapted well to change, learned new skills with remote learning and coping with restrictions and also demonstrated excellent understanding and behaviour in school. Families have helped with remote learning, practising spellings, reading and tables, ensuring that the children arrive at the correct gate and have understood when we have had to make changes at the last minute.
A huge thank you to all of the Woodlands team who have worked tirelessly to continue to provide the best provision for the children in difficult circumstances. We very nearly made it to the end of the year but not quite. Even in the last week the team have continued with phone calls, zoom meetings and remote learning right until the end. Everybody deserves this summer break.
We wish all the best to our WONDERFUL and amazing Year 6 who move on to pastures new. It was great to be able to take them on camp and see them in the zoom assembly. Well done Year 6 – Keep shining!
September is a fresh start with many routines returning to ‘normal’ but some remaining slightly different to continue to reduce the risks and keep school open as long as possible. Staggered starts at the 3 different gates will continue, mask wearing in the reception area will also continue along with regular handwashing and sanitising. We are still waiting for further government guidance for September but will update the school website when details arrive. We hope that you all have a wonderful summer — even if you cannot go on your usual holiday, but can spend time together relaxing and having fun.
We look forward to seeing everyone on THURSDAY 2nd September.
Thank you from The Woodlands Team
